The Downing Centre is located between Elizabeth, Liverpool & Castlereagh Streets in the Sydney CBD. It is located a short 10 minute drive from the NGL office. We also use conference rooms in the CBD where our solicitors can meet you if this is more convenient.

The Downing Centre Local Court is the largest local court complex in the Sydney CBD with a number of different magistrates sitting on any given day. Levels 4 and 5 of the Downing Centre is where the Local Court is situated with the Lower Ground, Ground and Level 1 of the Downing Centre complex being the home of the Sydney District Court Criminal Division.

DRINK DRIVING MATTERS

If a Drink Driving Matter is listed at the Downing Centre then it will be listed at Level 4 of the Downing Centre which is the Downing Centre Local Court Criminal Division and where most of the drink driving sentencing matters take place. It would only normally be on appeal of a penalty/sentence in the Local Court that the matter would be heard before a Judge of the Downing Centre District Court on the lower levels of the Court complex.

We would highly recommend that anyone charged with a drink driving matter obtain experienced legal representation as it can make the difference between losing your license or saving your license and between gaining a criminal conviction or in having the charge dismissed. There is a big gulf between these two outcomes.
